Gabe Hudson

Gabe Hudson is the host of the podcast, Twitter Verse, from Lit Hub. He talks to acclaimed writers about their Tweets in order to learn how their hearts work.

He is the author of 2 books (Knopf) and was named a Best Young American Novelist by Granta Magazine. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, The Village Voice, McSweeney’s, The Believer, among others. His honors include PEN/Hemingway Finalist, the Hodder Fellowship from Princeton University, a grant from the Humanities War & Peace Initiative at Columbia University, and the Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

He was Editor-at-Large for McSweeney’s for over a decade.

He was a contributing writer for HBO’s book, Six Feet Under: Better Living Through Death.

He served in the Marine Corps a million years ago.

Originally from Austin, Gabe did undergraduate work at the University of Texas, where he won the Adele Steiner Burleson Award in Fiction. He received his MFA from Brown University, where he won the John Hawkes Prize in Fiction.

He taught at Princeton University, and is an adjunct professor in Columbia University’s graduate School of the Arts.

The best writing advice Gabe knows is to get a dog and worship it.
